Why are some of the albums on this site so expensive?

Some of the albums that I

Some of the albums that I have listed for sale are indeed expensive; that may be because they are out of print or are genuine collectors' items, for example. Other factors that influence the price include the condition of the vinyl (this is perhaps the single most important consideration); the integrity of the jacket and sleeve that hold the record; the presence or absence of liner notes or booklets, and the condition of same; the identity of the featured artist or conductor (please keep in mind that some of the pianists, in particular, whose names appear on this site probably studied with students of the very composers whose works they perform); whether the disc is imported from Europe; and whether upon visual inspection it can be concluded beyond a reasonable doubt that the vinyl disc in question has never been placed on a turntable and played.

These factors notwithstanding, I am open to any reasonable offer that you might wish to make on any album in this collection, inasmuch as my objective is to make rare and out of print vinyl accessible to those who want it. (Discounts are available as well.)

To make an offer on an album, you may send me an email using the contact form (the link to which is the first item under the "Directory" heading to the left), or you may use this form. Either way, I will receive your message and will respond promptly.
